Helping Brony Artists Grow
Hai guys, Spades here!

Quiet week this week. I thought that buttons were all the rage, but apparently that's zippers... I'm not convinced myself. Zippers get awful finicky when you're trying to put them back together and I keep zipping my fur in them and then they get stuck and then that was that incident with the chain lightning and it just wasn't pretty. Buttons is where it's at, sir. You can see who else thought so over at the Wrap-Up Blog

Well we've covered things that you can push! What comes next?

A pony pulling

And I can think of all sorts of things to pull! Levers are nice. They're almost as tempting as buttons! But that's just the tip of the iceberg! You can pull a load, you can pull your weight, you can pull a stunt! You can have some pull if you're an influential kind of pony, or you can pull out all the stops! You can... wait, what does this one say? Go out on the pull? I have no idea what that means! So many options with this week's theme, sir! Can you think of more?

When you're done, don't forget to throw your art at our external submitter! The username is artist and the password is twilight.

Better pull your socks up!

((Socks are the best, by the way))

Happy arting, guys!

So what happened to all the content submitted in weeks before 148 as the don't appear to be in the "Previous Weeks" folder, were the removed to make room or to decease the number of folders, or was it a accident?

On a other note whats the rules about submitting to weeks gone past?

One last thing to the admins, your list of previous themes is not up to date
www.deviantart.com/users/outgo…
also just a idea could you maybe have the week numbers next to the themes in the list.

O and I hope everyones having a great day.

If you open up the Previous Weeks folder, you'll see a list of folders for the past week along the left side of the screen.  Do note that many of the early weeks are in condensed folders, each containing five weeks worth of submissions instead of one.  The reason for that is because deviantART actually has a limit on how many folders a single group can create, and we hit that limit some time ago.

Submissions to past themes are perfectly acceptable, and merely need to follow the same rules that the current theme submissions would follow.

And yeah, the previous themes list is badly in need of updating.

And you have a great day as well!  :iconhappytsplz:

Hey everypony! I am interested in attending BronyCon again this year at the Baltimore Convention Center and thanks to a chaotic summer I had little time to plan. I am looking around for anyone in need of another hotel room-mate for the event. I live pretty close to the center but not close enough to simply walk, so I would like to secure lodging if possible for convenience sake. If anyone needs another body to fill a hotel room please reply. I'd love to hang out with everyone at the con again this year.

Ohhhhh, so the theme changes at midnight Sunday night EST now instead of 3AM EST like it was on the west coast before?  So I just stayed up extra late finishing my piece this week for nothing~  Oh well~

It said to upload anyway and ask the admins nicely, so there ya go... S'not a big deal, though, I'm just now getting back into doing these on time the last few weeks for the first time in ages, and I just did a crappy quick pic this week at the very end like a silly filly..  But it's up to you~

The theme deadlines for this group have always been midnight EST, or at least they have been for as long as I've been around.  I suspect you've gotten this confused with the deadlines for Equestria Daily's NATG events, which did have a midnight PST deadline, and were also the inspiration for this group in the first place.

Nonetheless, the deadlines are really just for the Wrap-Up Blog that gets linked to in each journal entry.  New creations can always be submitted to our gallery, no matter how old the theme in question may be.

Also, sorry about this reply being a bit late, but I just returned from BronyCon.

Ermagawd... I just sent my join request and realized that the last deviation I've uploaded kinda classifies for the current theme :3

Submitted a join request. In the mean time, does annyone have any tips for modeling a 3-D pony? Also, how the heck are you supposed to draw w/ a mouse!? Blows my mind.

We have a few modellers and animators kicking around, though I will admit to not being one of them. Your best bet is perhaps to hop on the IRC chatroom and see who can talk the talk, or provide guides and references and tips depending upon what software you're using.

You can find a tutorial on how to do that here! www.youtube.com/watch?v=LfBLKM…

As for drawing with a mouse? Practice and denial! ^_^ I strongly recommend a tablet, though I know of several people who can create amazing and wonderful arts with just their mouse.

For this week's theme [helping out] I did a guide on how I draw ponies.
Would I submit it to this week's theme or to the folder for tutorials?
Thanks for reading, and here is the guide if it helps fav.me/d7g6ezp

That's so thoughtful of you! I really have a thing for watching art come together from a blank canvas to finished product, its not just satisfying to watch but really gives nice insight to how an artist pulls things together.

A piece can only be in one folder at a time, so I'll let you decide where you'd best like it. I've no qualms about shifting this across to the guides folder after next week if you like.

Thanks a lot! I think I'd rather have it in the guides folder since that's what I intended it to be :33

That is adorable and helpful!  Feel free to submit it to this week's theme (and to the tutorial folder as well if you'd like!), as it was definitely done in the spirit of helping.
