Helping Brony Artists Grow
*cough cough* ugh... well, that was a fun week, right? Now, we've all taken some preventive medication, eaten some good potato soup, tomato soup, or soup soup, right?  Is everypony feeling better now? Wipe your nose, wash your face, and get out of bed. The sun is rising, and I know I feel fine. Give your tired limbs a stretch and go review some of the patient files at the Wrap-Up blog.

Of course, they say the best solution when you're sick is get plenty of bed rest!  It is essential to getting over any illness. And to get plenty of rest, you're going to need to ensure that everypony else around you adheres to this week's theme.  That's right, Shhhhhhh:

A Silent Pony / A Quiet Pony.

Keep the noise down! Use your inside voices!  Stop typing with exclamation points and for the love of Celestia, REFRAIN FROM USING THE ROYAL CANTERLOT VOICE!  We want everyone to get the rest they need to recover from last week's rampant influenza. Of course, there's a lot of other reasons to keep quiet. You need to keep quiet if you're hiding, or during a class. Of in a game of 'Shhh!' to determine who can stay quiet the longest.  Alternatively, silence is the domain of the ninja... (The one who can stay quiet the longest is the one who lives).  And I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the handy tool we ATG Admins use to keep Spades quiet for a week.  Duct Tape!

be sure to submit your art to our external submitter for the Weekly Wrap-Up Blog, as always the username is artist and the password is twilight.  Just keep it down, alright?  Try not to wake the neighbors.

This Post brought to you by Duct Tape.

Submitted a join request. In the mean time, does annyone have any tips for modeling a 3-D pony? Also, how the heck are you supposed to draw w/ a mouse!? Blows my mind.

We have a few modellers and animators kicking around, though I will admit to not being one of them. Your best bet is perhaps to hop on the IRC chatroom and see who can talk the talk, or provide guides and references and tips depending upon what software you're using.

You can find a tutorial on how to do that here! www.youtube.com/watch?v=LfBLKM…

As for drawing with a mouse? Practice and denial! ^_^ I strongly recommend a tablet, though I know of several people who can create amazing and wonderful arts with just their mouse.

For this week's theme [helping out] I did a guide on how I draw ponies.
Would I submit it to this week's theme or to the folder for tutorials?
Thanks for reading, and here is the guide if it helps fav.me/d7g6ezp

That's so thoughtful of you! I really have a thing for watching art come together from a blank canvas to finished product, its not just satisfying to watch but really gives nice insight to how an artist pulls things together.

A piece can only be in one folder at a time, so I'll let you decide where you'd best like it. I've no qualms about shifting this across to the guides folder after next week if you like.

Thanks a lot! I think I'd rather have it in the guides folder since that's what I intended it to be :33

That is adorable and helpful!  Feel free to submit it to this week's theme (and to the tutorial folder as well if you'd like!), as it was definitely done in the spirit of helping.

I can't submit to the group. It just shows an error: "Sorry, you do not have permission to submit artwork to this group."

That's odd.  What folder were you trying to submit to?

...?
I didn't even get to the groups. I couldn't find any other way so I tried to add it via the "Add to a Group" button in the deviation page. When I typed the group name in the field and pressed "Check" it just showed the aforementioned message.

Potentially stupid question, but are you actually a member of the group?  I took a look through the member list and didn't notice you there, but I could have simply missed you.
Also, sorry about not responding to you more quickly.  I've been rather busy as of late, unfortunately.

We actually have a number of tutorials made by various people in the Guides and Other Helpful Things folder.  This includes both basic tutorials on drawing ponies, as well as some that go into detail on specific elements.

It's not letting me submit to this week's theme. There's no plus sign next to the folder, and the theme isn't on the list when I try to submit it from the deviation page.
